Pledge for Health
The CQC inspection report rated Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust as Inadequate and as a result the Trust remains in Special Measures, which it has been in since 2013. The immediate focus of the Trust must be on improving safety and outcomes for patients, but there also needs to be radical change that will secure the long-term future of healthcare provision in our area.
Out of this difficult situation arises the opportunity to merge the Trust with a high-performing neighbouring Trust such as Nottingham or Sheffield.
The Pledge for Health is a clear, positive message from our community to decision-makers in the NHS and Government that we:
1.Support a full merger of our Trust with a high-performing neighbouring Trust, to secure the future of high quality healthcare provision in our area
2.Support, and will work constructively with, the new Trust
3.Support the hard-working doctors, nurses and staff of Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust, including at Newark Hospital, during this challenging period.
