Thank you to everyone who made the launch of the Next Generation Network in Newark such a resounding success.
I was delighted to welcome you all to our first networking club event. The Next Generation Network will provide the opportunity for active people in the Newark community to meet a few times a year and listen to inspirational guest speakers.
We were privileged to be joined by our first guest speaker, Nathan Cumberland. Nathan is a Newark man born and bred who shared his incredible story of challenge, resilience and success with us. Nathan served three tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and suffered life-changing injuries whilst fighting the Taliban. But despite facing extreme adversity, he has turned his life around and recently competed in the Invictus Games in powerlifting and shot-put. Nathan now has his goal set on the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
I’ll be organising further networking events later this year, so please do get in touch with me if you’d like to get involved.
