Dementia Action Coffee Morning

Great progress was made towards making Newark a more dementia friendly town at my Dementia Action coffee morning.

Representatives from local voluntary groups, the Alzheimer’s Society and the NHS met with residents interested in dementia care in the Newark area.

The small focus groups held have informed what next steps the Newark & District Dementia Action Alliance’s will take towards their aim of improving the lives of people with dementia in Newark.

I’m pleased that the coffee morning marked a positive move towards tackling the challenges (and realising the opportunities) facing people with dementia and their carers.

The Newark & District Dementia Action Alliance will be working with the well-established Newark Dementia Carers Group and all others who are willing to be part of this crucial project.
