Campaigning for CCTV in Bridge Ward

Bridge Ward Meeting In August Robert met with residents of Newark Bridge Ward together with local councillors Gill Dawn and Irene Brown to discuss concerns about drug dealing in the car park of the Winthorpe Community Centre, Wolsey Road area and a perceived increase of crime in neighbouring streets.

Residents and councillors were distressed that the long standing CCTV cameras around the shops have been taken away by Newark and Sherwood Homes. Robert has taken up their case and written to Newark and Sherwood Homes jointly with gill and Irene, urging that the cameras to be reinstated as soon as possible to deter crime and give residence reassurance. Robert has since spoken with the head of newark Police Inspector Louise Clark and raised the issue with her.
